Hotel Sokos Presidentti, a 4 star property with Finnish adaptation

Hotel Sokos Presidentti

Helsinki is a sprightly seaside city, full of Parks and Islands, and refreshing as ever. This capital area of Finland will never get you tired, its close proximity to nature is an evidence of a conscious stress free environment. A bracing 20 minute drive into the city from the airport, through vernacular architecture, european styled homes, infinite lakes and sizeable parks and monumental buildings, to reach our designated venue. Before I could absorb the real vibe of the city, I found myself adjacent to Kampii Mall, at a towering 4 star eco friendly Hotel. The Original Sokos Hotel Presidentti, is about 5 minutes walking distance from the centre of Helsinki.

In the neighbourhood, you can conveniently locate departmental and brand stores, along with restaurants, food stalls and jewellery stores. The Kamppi Metro Station is located about 10 minutes from the hotel, the harbour is about 15 minutes walk away, while the National Art Museum is just 5 minutes walking distance.

Sokos Hotel Presidentti, a Scandinavian designed accommodation for both Business and leisure, opens up to a large reception with two wonderful ladies welcoming you with a cheerful smile. The check in process is quick, the hotel staff is nice and friendly, the 2 lifts are close to the reception, the long corridors can be tiresome, but the comfortable beds and the cozy, quiet, medium sized clean rooms, will relax you in no time. All 494 rooms provide free WiFi, minibars, satellite TV, Room service, Hair dryers, and phones.

Room Facilities: Electric Kettle | Hairdryer | Heating Iron Board | Mini Bar | Non Smoking Rooms | Radio | Room Service | Safety Deposit Box | Seating Area | Shower Slippers | Sofa | TV Satellite | Cable | Telephone | Work Desk

The Air Conditioned Bath/Shower combination along with Bathrobes and Bathroom amenities is considerably decent. You will find a full size bath tub, with plenty of hand and bath towels, a set of branded moisturiser and bubble bath, Hair dryer, Drinking glasses, body lotion sachets, and shampoo/conditioner. I think that covers it all. You wouldn’t really need anything beyond that in a washroom to make it more convenient.

A Good Night Sleep

Sunset in Europe hits around 10ish in the evening, which technically gives you more productive time during the sunlight hours. A front view room, with a glimpse of the city lights. Not to mention, the view of the locals on their way back home from work. Furthermore, later in the evening, I toured the hotel.

Then again, Sokos Presidentti has 4 restaurants, 1 bar, and 1 casino. Additionally, you will find 8 sauna rooms and an indoor swimming pool with a health club. Not to mention the hotel also offers a well equipped conference and seminar rooms.

Rise and Shine!

It’s a great hotel that will cost your pocket somewhere between 120 – 200 Euros per night. The room rent is inclusive of a delicious buffet breakfast. Coupled with raw cold meats, breads, eggs, yoghurt, cheese, and fresh fruits on the list. You can stay here and practically explore half the city on feet.
