Apache, Viman Nagar – Fly High

Apache Lounge has always been a popular watering hole, especially for the young crowd, thanks to their affordable drinks and munchies. So it was hardly a surprise that they decided to stamp their presence in the happening suburb of Viman Nagar.

After launching with a loud bang, the expectations from this place were high. So #TheBTeam decided to head over to the place to check it out, thanks to the pretty ladies at Carpe! #TheBTeamExclusive

A huge space with ground and mezzanine seating and the rooftop above, it is the largest Apache currently in town. The place has been done up very quirkily with funny one-liners on the walls along with some retro artefacts.

Even the rooftop has its own separate identity with a central island bar and bold and bright seating all around. The use of a couple of scooters as seating for 2 is an innovative kick.

Drinks

The Apache Tornado [Rs. 750] is a signature cocktail which should be elevated to an autograph. Made with whisky, vodka, rum, beer and cola; this was one potent and heady mix!! And serving in a fully functional miniature extinguisher made it all the more fun to operate. #DeadlyPotent #MustTry

The Smoking Pineapple [Rs. 150] – While this is a mocktail made with smoked pineapple, elder flower, rosemary, pineapple juice and sour mix, I loved the drink so much I had to have it upgraded to a vodka cocktail. And lemme tell ya, it was brilliant. Do try!! #YumYum #HighlyRecommended

Chakna

The Roasted Moongfalli Bhel [Rs. 99] tasted yum. The tangy and spicy flavors went well with chilled beers. While the Masala Cheese Fries [Rs. 140] hit the brief perfectly. Cheesy yet crunchy. #MustHaves

The Chicken Caesar Salad [Rs. 170] was another winner for me. Nice dressing on lettuce and perfectly cooked chicken with good marination. #DeliciousDelicious

Truck full of Appalams Chaplams [Rs. 140] – First off, this has nothing to do with the popular song from the 1955 movie Azaad sung by Lata Mangeshkar. Nice crunchy poppadoms of different varieties were served in a miniature truck with mint and salsa chutneys. Once again, a good accompaniment to the drinks.

Tandoori Chicken Chaat [Rs. 150] was a unique yet fun combination of flavors. Anyone who loves chat would love the tangy, sweet, spicy flavors of the yogurt and chutneys. Add the tandoori chicken and you have something to satiate the chaaty carnivores as well.

Mains

The BBQ Chicken Pizza [Rs. 280] and the Pepper Paneer Pizza [Rs. 250] were both brilliant. Nice thin crispy base [Baby ko ye base pasand hai!!], generous quantities of the proteins and just the right amount of sauces and seasonings. #YumYum #HighlyRecommended

The Mutton Kheema Dabeli Pav [Rs 180] was served on a tiny hand cart. Stuffed like a dabeli however the meat was a little under salted.

The Thai Chicken Red [Rs. 245] and Veg. Green Curry [Rs. 225] – I have always been a fan of the green curry and almost never order the red however it was a total kayapalat here. The red ended up being a better option than the green which had a strong galangal flavor which was overpowering.

Dessert

The Jägerbomb [Rs. 180] in the dessert section did catch my attention and the description of a rum ball with Jägermeister certainly piqued my interest but the concentration of the Jägermeister was negligible, bringing my excitement crashing down.

While Apache is primarily known for their affordable drinks and finger foods, they have started focusing on the mains as well making it a well-rounded place for an evening experience. A fun place to hang out with friends or with a special someone. 😉

A big shout out to Sannaya and Team Carpe for inviting us and Team Apache for hosting us.

Apache Fly High is located near Dutt Mandir Chowk, Viman Nagar.
